I wasn’t going to post this at first as the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blush in Pillow Talk – one of the new additions to her Pillow Talk collection and joining the cult classic lipliner and Matte Revolution lippie of the same name – sold out immediately after its recent launch, so it didn’t seem helpful. Annoying even. But then thinking about Charlotte Tilbury as a brand, and the power of her Pillow Talk following, I’m pretty confident that the blush will become part of her permanent collection in a few months so I thought it might be helpful. Which it should as it’s stunning! So, with that in mind, I thought that I’d share how I use this pretty shade and also throw in a cheeky dupe for good measure, should you want to try something similar until you can buy the real thing!
Cheek to Chic Blush in Pillow Talk
As an eyeshadow..!
I have blue eyes so pink and coral tones always work well on me but ironically I don’t wear them enough. Enter my spanking new blush and I realised that this could be a versatile multitasker for those mornings when I’m time poor and applying a warm shade on my eyes and cheeks can pull together a simple look.
As a blush..!
Er obvs! If you’re familiar with Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic blushes, the Pillow Talk addition is a little bit different; whereas the others all have the core blush colour around the edge (the swish) and a deeper or brighter centre to add the ‘pop ‘ of colour to the apple of the cheek, this one is unique in that it has the signature Pillow Talk nudey pink as the ‘Swish’ but a pretty champagne highlighter rather than the pop. It’s beautiful.
As a bronzer..!
Bear with me on this one and admittedly, this will probably only work on lighter skin tones, but if you are a paler bod like me with cool/pinky undertones, this provides a really pretty natural bronze shade; that sunkissed, bordering on ‘you’ve had a little bit too much sun’ look that can look really pretty if you don’t take it too far. I’ve been reaching for this as a bronzer for the last few weeks and am really enjoying it!
And finally…a cheeky dupe!
The reason that I thought to use this bad boy as a bronzer was that whilst playing with it, I realised that I had owned something similar before; the Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Antigua from Bobbi Brown. I was a big Bobbi Brown fan back in the day and attended an Instyle event where one of their senior makeup artists helped us to pick out our capsule products and we applied our makeup along with him. Such fun! Anyhoo when it came to selecting the right bronzer, I automatically picked up my usual Bronzing Powder in Golden Light, but he suggested that I try Antigua instead. I was NOT convinced but decided to trust him and was so surprised at how natural and pretty it looked with my colouring. And the light pink, subtle shimmer of this bronzer really reminds me of the Pillow Talk blush and is the reason why I’ve been enjoying wearing it in this way.
So, there you go, my fave new blusher and the three ways that I’ve incorporated it into my makeup wardrobe. Did you pick it up and what did you think?
